Double Eyelid Surgery – Buried Suture Method

Double Eyelid Surgery – Buried Suture Method

Double eyelids with a natural look and no scars

Who is the buried suture method of double eyelid surgery suitable for?

  1. For those who want double eyelids without incisions.
  2. For those who wish to have double eyelids in a less invasion way.
  3. For those who wish for shorter recovery time.

An explanation of the suture method.

The buried suture method of double eyelid surgery creates a double eyelid by implanting a safe, non-absorbable thin nylon thread through a small needle hole along the line to create a double eyelid of a desired width.
The needle holes in the eyelids will become almost invisible.

We tie 2-6 small knots in the skin, making it hard for the double eyelid to loosen or lose shape.
When the thread is passed through the conjunctival side, it does not affect the function of the eyelid because the thread clears the area where the eyelid opening muscles attach. The mybomian glands are also unaffected because the thread dose not pass through the tarsal plate.
The thread is not exposed on the back of the eyelid, it is buried, so there will be no damage to the eye.

Features of our buried suture method

  • Our double eyelid lasts longer. This method can be used for a variety of eyelid widths.
  • We will use 7-0 Nylon which is specially designed for the buried suture method. It minimizes damage to eyelid tissue.
  • You can also choose 7-0 ASFLEX, which is also exclusively designed for the buried suture method. The size of the knot is smaller, it is less likely to loosen, and the thread is very durable.
  • The knots in the thread are tiny and unnoticeable.
  • For local anesthesia, we use 34G ultra-fine needles (needle thickness 0.2mm) to minimize pain.
  • Surface anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia are used for those who are afraid of even the slightest pain.
  • The buried suture method is minimally invasive, as all the threads are buried within the eyelid.
  • You can wash your face and take a shower on the same day after surgery.
  • 6-point fixation double eyelid surgery comes with a 3-year free warranty.
50% off same surgery revision after the warranty period, 20% off any new additional surgery (2, 4, or 6-point fixation)

Surgery method

Our buried suture method is available in 2, 4, and 6-point fixation.

Illustrations of the three fixations

In our clinic, the fixations are done as a loop, which is stronger. The 2-point fixation method is only suitable for those who have modest surgery or partial reinforcement.

4点式埋线法

The 4-point fixation method is our standard method. It creates a more defined line from the inside to the outside of the eyelid crease. This method can be used for both modest and fancy lines, and is very difficult to dislodge.

6点式埋线法

The 4-point and 6-point fixation method use double loops for reinforcement. The 6-point fixation method is the longest lasting, and is suitable for people with thick eyelids, or for people who want a wider line, or for people who had double eyelid surgery unsuccessfully at another clinic.

An additional two knots will be added in the middle of the outer loop of the 4-point fixation. There are six knots, four of which are fixed in the middle of the line for maximum anchoring power.

ASFLEX – Polyvinylidene fluoride synthetic non-absorbable suture

This suture is made of a new material, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).
These sutures have almost no deterioration in vivo.
This suture minimizes tissue damage.
The knot of the thread is small and unnoticeable.
The knot doesn’t loosen easily, and the thread is very durable, both of which are advantageous for sustained double eyelid form.

FAQ

Questions answered about buried suture method.
Click on each question to see the answer.

How long will swelling last after surgery?

With our method, the amount of anesthesia is kept to a minimum of 0.4 ml for each eyelid.
The tension of the thread is not too strong nor too weak, it’s just right, so the swelling around the eyelid will go down in a few days.
The swelling duration will vary depending on the width of the desired line.If the double eyelid is wider than 10 mm, the swelling may last for 2-3 weeks.

When can I wear makeup again after surgery?

Makeup can be applied immediately after surgery except for the eyelids.Eyelid makeup can be applied on the third day after surgery.

Is the use of adhesive or tape recommended?

Some people buy adhesives or tape to make a double eyelid, but this method can damage the skin and cause a rash.Prolonged use of adhesives can loosen and stretch the skin. The thin, delicate skin of the eyelids can also harden and thicken due to chronic dermatitis. The buried suture method is preferable, both for the treatment of dermatitis and to free yourself from having to apply tape each morning.

How long do double eyelids last after the buried suture method?

With cheap and low-quality surgery, the double eyelid will not last as long.
Our method is based on the condition of each patient’s eyelids, and we choose from two to six points of fixation. The six-point fixation is the strongest method. It is used for thick or flabby eyelids. The double eyelid dosen’t last only for less than 1% of patients in 3 years.

How do you protect the eyes during sugery?

At our clinic, we administer eye drop anesthesia and use a corneal protection plate during surgery. The plate completely separates the eyeball from the eyelid, so there is no damage to the eyeball.
Our methods do not expose the thread on the conjunctiva side, rather the thread is buried on the back side, so the possibility of the thread hitting the cornea after surgery is very small.

I want to have a wide and clear double eyelid without an incision, is it possible?

Our 6-point fixation method is a strong buried suture method that can accommodate very wide double eyelids.
However, if the double eyelid is too wide, the eyelid fat may get in the way, in which case it will be necessary to remove the fat with a very small incision.Fat removal will give a cleaner look.

How do you manage pain during surgery?

Pain will be minimal, because our local anesthetic contains extra agents to reduce any discomfort. To minimize injection pain, the amount of anesthetic used is kept to a minimum of 1-1.5 cc for both eyelids.
Pain is also minimized by using an ultra-fine 34G needle, and a new needle for each side. The injection is done slowly to minimize pain.
For those who are still afraid of pain, we offer general anesthesia.During general anesthesia, you will be completely painless and unconscious, but you will breathe as usual, so there will be no breathlessness.
