An explanation of lipectomy of the lower eyelid.

Lipectomy of the lower eyelid is a procedure to remove the bulges of orbital fat in the lower eyelids, known as eye bags, to improve shadow circles.

The lower eyelid is puffy, and depending on how the light hits it, shadows are accentuated and appear as dark circles, either because there is naturally a lot of orbital fat, or because the orbital fat has projected outwards due to aging.
Lipectomy of the lower eyelid is a technique to remove excess fat from the conjunctival side of the eyelid.
The surgery is performed through the conjunctiva, so there is no scarring of the eyelid skin.It is an easy and effective anti-aging technique with short downtime due to minor swelling.

Features of our lipectomy of the lower eyelid

  • The approach is from the back (conjunctival side), so there is no scarring of the skin.
  • The swelling goes down quickly, in about 3 to 7 days.
  • Makeup can be applied the next day.
  • For local anesthesia, we use 34G ultra-fine needles (needle thickness 0.2mm) to minimize pain.
  • Surface anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia are used for those who are afraid of even the slightest pain.

Lipectomy of the lower eyelid explained

The fat is removed through a small hole on the underside of the eyelid (conjunctival side).
The orbital fat of the lower eyelid is located in three compartments. The key is to remove an appropriate amount of fat from each compartment, but not too much.
The scar is only on the underside of the eyelid, so there is no need to worry about the scar being noticeable.
Post-operative swelling will go down in a few days.
