Who is inverted eyelash surgery suitable for?

  1. For those who want to improve inverted eyelashes.
  2. For those who wish to remove excess skin after widening of the lower eyelid.

An explanation of inverted eyelash surgery

Inverted eyelashes are more common in the deep eye, where the lashes are pushed against the eyeball by the thickness and flabbiness of the eyelid skin. This condition is prone to damage to the ocular cornea and requires early remediation.
Inverted eyelash surgery is a procedure in which excess skin of the eyelid is removed at the eyelash line to change the direction of the lashes so that they no longer hit the eyeball.

The appearance of the eyes can also be dark or lackluster because the lower eyelashes grow upward and the upper eyelashes grow downward, creating a barcode of black eyelashes in the eye.
Inverted eyelashes on the upper eyelid are relatively common in people whose eyelid skin has sagged due to the use of double eyelid tape, etc., and the skin is riding on the eyelashes, or in people who have had buried suture method of double eyelid surgery performed extensively and have excess skin under the line that is riding on their eyelashes.
In inverted eyelash surgery, both the upper and lower eyelid skin excesses can be removed at the eyelash line to improve inverted eyelash symptoms, protect the eyeball, and give the eyelashes a more glamorous appearance.

Features of our inverted eyelash surgery

  • For local anesthesia, we use 34G ultra-fine needles (needle thickness 0.2mm) to minimize pain.
  • Surface anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia are used for those who are afraid of even the slightest pain.
  • The day after surgery, you can shower, wash your face, and apply make-up except for on your eyelids.
  • Skin sutures can be removed early on the fourth or fifth day, because we use the buried suture method with 7-0 ultra-fine absorbable thread (plastic surgical sutures). Scarring will be minimal.
  • Skin suturing with transparent thread is also available.
  • You can apply make-up to your eyelids the day after stitches are removed.

Surgery method

A few millimeters of skin and orbicularis oculi muscle are removed at the eyelash line, and plastic surgical sutures are applied.
We use the best plastic surgical sutures for wound healing, which are internally sutured with high-performance absorbable ultra-fine thread and externally sutured with non-absorbable ultra-fine thread.
We also offer skin suturing with ultra-fine transparent thread.
Scars will be barely discernible. The surgery eliminates damage to the ocular cornea and, visually, provides an eyeliner-like effect as the eyes are more open and the eyelashes open outward.
Inverted eyelashes on the upper eyelid can also be improved in the same way as above, with a surgical procedure that involves skin excision at the eyelash line. In this case, the double eyelid is not formed and the inverted eyelashes are improved.
If you wish to form a double eyelid, we can improve inverted eyelashes while forming double eyelid by buried suture method or full incision method.
When healing while forming a double eyelid, be careful not to make the double eyelid too wide, as this will make it difficult to improve inverted eyelashes.
